REVIEWS 6281 Men's Dakota Waxed Cotton Casual Coat

I ordered this jacket as a late fall or early winter jacket to take the place of my half zip pullover and it fills the role perfectly. The exterior is soft and the waxed coating aids with beading off water from light rains or just doing general work outdoors with moisture. The hood is no overly large or too small and covers my head perfectly and can be detached along with the semi-hoodie liner. It fits fairly true to size, me being a larger guy I was worried initially as some of the coats I get tend to run a little too tight across the chest or gut despite the measurements indicating otherwise. This however fits perfectly. It does well in the cold but I have yet to test it at temps lower than 30degreesF (-1.111degreesC) or with heavy wind but for the general cold temps were getting around late November and early December Its absolutely perfect.

The only complaint I have, if you can even call it that, is that the exterior pockets dont have zippers or snaps on them and since they are lined with a slick material I dont quite feel secure when putting anything in them with any heft like a phone or wallet. Interior pockets are all fine and the chest pocket is also really good and it has a zipper.

I was looking for a jacket that was heavier than my light spring jacket but not as heavy/rigid as my winter coat. This jacket NAILS that sweet spot! It actually may become my Fall/Winter coat by default, now. Its soft and pliable but warm enough, so far, on Memphiss 15 degree days!

I am 245 pounds with a portly wine belly and stand 5 feet11 inches. I tried the XL but had to return it as it was too snug on my Orson Welles belly. Got the 2XL and it fits my tummy perfectly with a tiny bit of room. Sleeves are a hair bit longer than i wanted in an XXL but its a very tiny complaint as i can roll them up if need be.

The moment i put this jacket on the wife said Oh, that looks good on you. For an overfed long haired leaping gnome to receive such a compliment, it was icing on the cake! I am VERY picky about the cloths i wear and was a tad hesitant buying something sight unseen off the interwebs, but this was a slam dunk. Customer service worked with me quickly to get my jackets swapped out. This was a 10 out of 10 experience!

I read quite a few negative reviews, but this is my new favorite jacket!!!! Comfortable right out of the box, not stiff, no break in needed. Ive worn it down to -5 degrees wind chill, I had a t shirt and a long sleeve flannel (Legendary Whitetails Buck Camp Flannel, check out this shirt too, it is hands down my favorite piece of clothing that I own!) on underneath and it was more than enough coat to tame to cold.

Now, I have only worn this during normal use. I do not know what Its like for long, extended periods of time in the cold.

As far as sizing, I wear a 2XL shirt, I got a 2XL jacket and Its very slightly large, but I could wear this comfortably with either just a t shirt or several other layers and a hoodie under the jacket. Buy this thing, I love it!

Absolutely love this jacket and I feel like Its a steal at this price. I had been looking at $150 or $200 leather jackets - glad I went with this one!

It kept me cozy with just a T-shirt under it at 45 degrees, and with an added flannel shirt it worked down to 25. This will be my go-to jacket for fall and spring. Love having the hood in there, too.

Im a bigger guy and take XXL in most jackets, but the XLT was just the right size. It looks great, my wife says Its slimming, but most importantly Its comfy and feels rugged. I can see this lasting a good long while.

We ordered this jacket for my husband to have a nice brown jacket. We were interested in the zip out feature so it wasnt quite so fancy when we were on a date rather than wearing it to church. He LOVES it! I ordered an XLT to make sure that he had enough length in the arms. If anything it is just a touch too long. The material is soft and warm. We will be returning to Deergear.com each winter! Great merchandise!

Previous buyers said that getting it in size Tall they had just sewn on an extra 2 inches. For us this was not the case. Again, great quality and well worth the money!

I got this for Christmas a couple of days ago. Its comfortable enough to wear all day. Warm enough for the below zero temps weve had lately.

The sleeves do run a little short. Maybe an inch longer would make a big difference. I did put it on this morning and the armpit ripped. I will be contacting the company about it. Over all I would recommend this jacket.

The color is a deep brown with gold highlights which I like. It can be worn with just

the inside, sweatshirt like inside zipper, zipped up for cool mild days. That method

leaves it roomy and airy. When it gets colder the outside zipper can be zipped which makes it a bit snugger and warmer. Very comfortable.

I bought this jacket as a 1st purchase from this company.

I have found it well made, handsome and warm.

I get a lot of compliments on its look as well.

I was so happy with the quality I bought the Article weather jacket as my sons Christmas gift but keep that to yourselves as Its a surprise!

I have to say that it surpassed my expectations. Looks great and comfortable,too. I usually get by with just a thin sweatshirt all winter long, but wanted a jacket for those stormy day. Ill have to wait for that storm to get here to test it out.

My confidence is high with this jacket.

I wanted a jacket to fill the bill between fall and into early winter for northern Wisconsin and this is the one. The lining is sewn in and offers a zip in/out placate which includes the hood. What a great idea. Classy yet casual. I love it.

My husband loves this jacket. Its just his style. Soft but durable. The fact you can remove the hood is a BIG plus sometimes you need it but other times you want a more dressed up look.
